Szentendre - Hungary’s most visited village

5/5
“Agnes took us on our Szentendre tour on Sunday afternoon which was very convenient and practical since traffic was light and we were able to cover a wide range of sights and places, every now and then stepping out of the car for a little walk. This afternoon expedition in 4 hours gave us a great overview of the charming village and together with the background information and tips from Christine we were able to follow up by ourselves in the next days. Ideal for a half day trip!”The whole Gioscia Family, Clorissa,Michael,Gaby, Amanda (US)

There is religious diversity in this little town: you find Orthodox and Catholic churches, a Protestant Temple and the smallest Synagogue in Hungary!

Szentendre, Kovács Margit Exhibition

There is an exhibition in Szentendre, for which people come from all over Europe: the beautiful and touching museum of a Hungarian artist lady, MARGIT KOVACS. Her clay statues and figurative pottery stand alone in 20th century Hungarian art, and are part of Hungarian Heritage. If you like art, we strongly recommend visiting this exhibition, and we can give you an inside tour.

A unique experience is the Marzipan Museum – not only for kids! It has copies of some famous Hungarian landmarks along with famous personalities and other well known characters.

There is always a handicraft fair, so if you like shopping, Szentendre is a paradise!

You will enjoy getting lost in the narrow winding streets among small houses, old churches and the tiny synagogue, drop into galleries of contemporary art or peculiar museums.
