See your guide: Erna M.Tour guide Erna M.

During this tour you will hear a lot about the history of the jewish community and also about the construction of the biggest synagogue in Europe. I will show you the cemetery and I am going to speak about the ghetto time. Later we are going to see the Tree of Life in the garden. Then if you are interested we can see also the Jewish Museum. Finishing the whole complex we walk to see the orthodox Kazinczy and Rumbach synagogues all around. At the end I show you the small streets and the vivid jewish destrict with the ruined pubs.

Dear Erna Our time in Budapest was made perfect because of you guiding us through the maze of streets to see the depth and beauty that is here. It is a dream to visit what we feel might be the roots of our families- possibly here in Hungary or if not, then close by. It's kind of sad for me to not know exactly where they came from in the early 1900's. I was too young when my grandparents were alive to really press them for details and my parents really didn't seem to care- more denial perhaps about the war etc. Although brief, our stay was incredibly satisfying. Thank you for sharing your wisdom! Hope to stay in touch June and Michael

Erna, wanted to drop you a note to say how much my wife, daughter and I enjoyed your tours. Your knowledge of the history of Budapest and all of the sites was very gratifying and added significantly to our enjoyment. Your recommendations for lunch both days were really good, and thank you for taking the time to make reservations for us in both places, since they were both very crowded and as a result of your forethought, we didn't have to wait. Going through the synagogue was very educational, and thanks again to you, we didn't have to wait in a long line (in cold weather) to get tickets. I have attached a picture showing you in your "guide mode." Thanks again--we had a great time. Jack, Tami and Abigail
