Andras was an excellent tour guide for our May 12 tour of the Danube Bend. He is a great historian. I would give the tour a rating of 4.

Last September 2013 I set up private sightseeing for a group of four of us with Illes Andras (Andrew). Was so very pleasantly surprised. Arrived at the appointed hour with detailed print-out for us of the arrangements. Clean van with driver and Andrew as guide. Spoke perfect English and was a joy to be with at very reasonable rates. Andrew may be contacted at guideinbudapest.com.

We planned to be in Budapest for a few days and wanted to hire a private guide. Looked on line where it was our good fortune to find Andras (Andrew) Illes. Although thousands of miles away, making arrangements with him via email was very easy. When we met him we found that not only is his command of the English language perfect, but he's very reliable, knowledgeable about everything from history and geography to local restaurants and area highlights, and he's fun to be with. Buda and Pest became alive for us, and we were taken to see many things that were not on most people's itinerary. What's more, because my husband has a walking handicap, Andrew made sure that we saw everything at a leisurely pace and he would then find someplace for us to sit while he went back to get his very comfortable car. Our visit was a most pleasurable experience and we have Andrew to thank. We recommend him highly. Visited May 2012

We spent two outstanding days touring the countryside in Northern Hungary and then visiting Szentendre and Skanzen in the Budapest area, with Andrew (Andras) Illes of budapestt....@gmail.com. His professionalism and skill in conducting such tours, knowledge of Hungarian history and culture, English and Hungarian fluency, seeing the beautiful countryside in his very comfortable air conditioned car, recommendations of local places to stop for lunch . . . it was all wonderful! Arranging the tour by e-mail in advance was easy, and Andrew was very flexible in tailoring the tour to our particular interests. Andrew added greatly to our visit in Hungary, and allowed us to explore and experience areas beyond Budapest in a relaxed way and within our limited travel time. Definitely a five star experience! We did the General Tour with guide Andrew of Pest and Buda. We found it to be both informative and entertaining. The 2 and a half hours flew by. A variety of information is provided as well as a map with areas of interested well marked for you to use when exploring Budapest on your own. Andrew touched on many relevant areas of interest and provided a great deal of valuable information. He was very good at his job! While the walking tour is free of charge, tipping the guide at the end of the tour is suggested, but there is no pressure to do so. Of course most people on our tour were more than happy to give something. Visited October 2011
