Budapest is the centre of Hungary, a very big capital to a small country. Out of 10 million inhabitants of Hungary 2 million live in Budapest. (The second biggest Hungarian town only has 200 thousand inhabitants) Bustling Budapest has two parts: flat Pest and bumpy Buda.
In the Pest side you can also enjoy pretty nice ditches and traffic jams. However, now the real interesting part for us is Buda! Hilly (bumpy) Buda has 3 long valleys, where there are 3 main roads leading you from north to south. (kind of) All of them has major road construction works at the moment! So, inhabitants calculate one hour more to get anywhere. They take interesting reading material with them on public transport (Lev Tolstoy: Anna Karenina is suggested reading, because it is long enough), or you can sit in your car listening to all kinds of reports on traffic jams on the radio. Both seem to be nice alternatives...
Among these circumstances I dare you to come with me on a city tour! Grab the opportunity, because by next year, all these beautiful construction sites wil be gone. (See pictures...)
We take public transport, and while I take you to some construction sites, and explain about them(if you are really interested), we will have a great time visiting Budapest! Please, let me know, if you are an engineer, and are seriously interested in the constructions! In that case I’ll bring my husband (civil engineer), and I'll share the money with him...
By the way, we also include the Castle hill, visit the old town (World Heritage Site) with Fishermen's Bastion (panorama), and the mighty Royal Palace. We take Andrássy Avenue (World Heritage Site!), pass the Hungarian Opera! to get to Heroes' Square: spectacular monument of the Hungarian history in the City park.

Included: English commentary just about anything you are interested in.
Not included: Food, drink, public transport tickets. But I usually invite my guests for a chimney cake, because that's my favourite

We loved Budapest. Your tour for us was just the best! Taking local transportation gave us a wonderful view of everyday life while still seeing the special sites we wanted to see. Thank you for all your insights and information.
